I am extremely pleased to announce the release of HemoSpat 2.0 for macOS 13, macOS 14, Windows 10, and Windows 11.
For a variety of reasons it has been a very long time in development, so it feels great to finally get this new version released.
HemoSpat 2.0 brings new features, a new user website, and a change in licensing.
(Please see the release notes for details of the changes in HemoSpat 2.0.)
Major New Features
New PDF Reports
HemoSpat has two new reports – Summary Report and Full Report – which are viewable in the application and may be saved as PDFs.
Details may be found in the post Upcoming Feature: New PDF Reports.
Cast-off Patterns
HemoSpat 2.0 adds experimental analysis of Cast-off Patterns based on my research from several years ago.
Details may be found in the post Upcoming Feature: Cast-off Patterns.
3D Viewer
A 3D viewer was added to compliment the 2D viewer. This lets you explore the scene interactively, save specific views, and save the current view as an image.
Details may be found in the post Upcoming Feature: 3D Viewer.
Integrated Manual
The manual and tutorials are all viewable in a documentation browser within HemoSpat itself.
New User Website
Announced back in September 2023, the new user site is now the place to access all your HemoSpat downloads (including 1.x versions). In addition, your license information is now available there, and a store is available to purchase 2.0 licenses.
Accounts here on hemospat.com are now closed.
New Licensing
HemoSpat 1.x
With HemoSpat version 1.x, licenses were tied to specific users by name and were not transferrable to others. These licenses were one-time payments and all updates to 1.x were included with the license. Separate licenses were required for macOS & Windows.
Your existing 1.x licenses will continue to work for the supported platforms. HemoSpat 1.x will not receive any new features, but valid license holders will receive support & critical updates for macOS 11-13 and Windows 10-11 until 1 November 2025.
HemoSpat 2
HemoSpat version 2 licenses are not tied to specific users by name and instead are based on how many users there are at your organization (if you have 3 analysts, you require 3 licenses). These licenses have yearly update & support costs associate with them. Separate licenses are no longer required for macOS & Windows – both are available for download with one license.
More Details
Please see the 1.x Licenses and 2.x Licenses sections of the Frequently Asked Questions for more details and feel free to contact me with any questions not answered there.
Purchasing
Along with the new site and new licensing, some of the purchasing options have changed. I will no longer be providing quotes or accepting POs or accepting SWIFT transfers. Please see the Ordering and Payment sections of the Frequently Asked Questions for more details.
In order to make a purchase, an account is required on the user site.
The Future
In addition to trying to keep up with the ever-changing operating systems, I have several new features and changes in development that I can’t wait to share in the future!
I look forward to any and all feedback about HemoSpat or even about the website and purchase process. Please feel free to contact me with questions or suggestions.
